An app about the experience of wind turbines

Spring is developing an app with a questionnaire for Uppsala University to collect data from people living close to wind turbine farms.

The result will be used for research purposes and in a joint venture by Uppsala University and KTH Royal Institute of Technology. The research project is financed by Vindval, a research program of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, financed by the Swedish Energy Agency.

The app is built with the open source CMS, Silverstripe. This service will be used to investigate to what extent people living close to wind mills are disturbed by sound emissions from the wind turbine park. The person answering the questionnaire will be asked to rate their sleep disturbance during the night and their noise disturbance during the day. In the service development it is important to facilitate the rating process for the respondents as much as possible, while at the same time meet the high demands on reliable data and personal integrity.
